Decent, bordering on good performance today imo. Etuhu really looked like the player everyone seems to think he can be, a confidence player, once sparked by the early goal made him become an essential part in many attacks.
Safri, was industrious, did what was required with the odd magical touch.
McVeigh - some brilliant touches, including a magnificent pass with the outside of his right boot to put earnie and hucks thru, altho one was just offside. Loves the ball at his feet, always looking to create something, a fantastic creative player. However, we already know this, does worthy appreciate it......??
Colin - steady, still lacks composure at times though, his forward work was infrequent but too often went backwards, this mainly due to the lack of height or options in the middle.
Hucks - typical, pacy, attractive, stylish play, dived once, but the second one was just the ref making an example of him. Hucks and Drury link up superbly at times, a great combination if ever i saw one.
Earnie - very sharp, he will cause problems this season for any defense, always wants the ball, always looks like hes going to do something with it.
Robbo, and the the two centre backs, did what was required, never pretty, but usually effective.
Jarv, Hendo and Thorne - although given less time, just seem to lack what it takes to play for us, i say put the first two on loan give them some games.
Overall, did what was required. HOWEVER, the Sutton issue keeps arising. Today, a 442, with croft right, hucks left, etuhu and saf in the middle would have complemented an earnie/ sutton frontline perfectly, the mix of pace and height, style and ball control would leave any teams struggling to handle us. Too often our fullbacks get forward but then have no options to cross the ball, the ball comes inside, and then crowded out by the oppositions 3 or 4 man midfield.
For me, gallacher, drury, shack, doh, flem, hucks, etuhu, saf, croft, earnie and mckenzie - barring any new signings. With mcveigh there or there abouts, the guy is class, but is he good enough to shape the team around him?? i'll leave that to everyone else to decide....
