My views on last night

1st half I thought we were comprehensively out played by a team made up of many 1st team fringe players at Newcastle. Only Parker out of that team starts every week.

2nd half I thought it was pretty even with both teams having chances to score more goals. Only trouble was by this time we were playing against a team made up of fringe players from Newcastle?s reserve team.

I saw nothing from last night?s game to suggest that this season is going to be anything different from last seasons shambles.

There is no pattern to our play and Messer?s Hughes and Etuhu struggle to pass the ball forward. Etuhu is so lazy and looked very unfit to me. Hughes was his typical self lots of sprinting and warming up before the game but as soon as the game started he looked like a fan who had won a prize to play for Norwich for a night.

As I expected Hunter has not had any influence on tactics at all. We had no clear game plan at all just like last season. I'm convinced he is just another yes man.

Why can we not do simple things such as pass and then move into space to receive the ball again? Etuhu on countless occasions passed the ball 5 yards and then stood there instead of moving.

Poor old Flem looked exactly what he is an aging centre back being forced to play at right back. He got caught for pace a lot.

Collin looked like a fish out of water at left back. Yes he may be a good athlete but every time I have seen him play for Norwich he looks as though he has no tactical awareness at all.

Earnie worked hard up front but once again he had to feed on scraps. He had to keep dropping into midfield to look for the ball and take pot shots from long range.

Second Half I thought Mcveigh looked very lively when he came on and we actually looked like we could create something. The only trouble was Thorne was up front instead of Earnie and he could not get anywhere near Mcveigh's clever through balls.

I also thought Hendo did well when he came and at least went at his full back a bit.

All in all I came away from the ground very despondent about the forthcoming season and can't see us doing anything till Worthington goes.

With regards to Lee Croft, I get the feeling that he is hoping someone else matches our bid for him so he can go elsewhere. In the world of football Worthington is not held in high regard and players are reluctant to sign for us while he is in charge. They know about the situation that is going on at the football club with the fans and Worthington and it is not a nice situation to put yourself in.

Until the board face up to the situation our club is going backwards. I only pray he goes quickly or the club will be put back many years.
