no - I think it is to accommodate Hucks

he doesn't tackle enough to be a midfielder
he doesn't get in the box enough to be a striker

hence Hucks + 2 strikers
hence only 3 midfielders
4-3-3

The only way we could play 4-4-2 is to play Hucks up front or drop him. Neither alternative is great frankly.
