To start with there's stereotype/truth, sunderland is a s**t area of england, unemployed, crap jobs, not a lot of money around = s**t crowds, unless you lower ticket prices. Negative area of living = negative crowd
mccarthy took up a side of bobinsons andy grays etc with some obvious good players, then when he gets there, results don't happen and suddenly its all his fault, hes a s**t manager etc
Out of any manager that deserved time and patience, it was him at sunderland
They haven't sold or bought anyone, they have the team they went down with, which is better than the team they went up with
He bought Whitehead, who is easily the best midfielder in the championship (unless a prem club come up with 3 million, which he is easily worth)
Instead, sunderland sacked McCarthy just like they shunted Cotteril out of the door behind Wilkinson and have got themselves where they are
