OT-DVD Camcorder Software

FFS help, before I put my foot through my monitor screen.

Have got Sony DVD Digicam and lots of those little DVD's full of movies I have made.

Does anyone know a simple software package that will enable me to edit from these-do all the silly stuff, text on screen, put a music soundtrack on, "fancy" cuts etc?

The Sony software that came with the thing is impossible to use.
