It was a more open game than I had expected

well the 1st half anyway. I thought the Italians started to feel the pressure and the 120mins against germany into the 2nd half.

Going into the match I was pretty ambivalent as to who should win. The Italians had been by far the better team throughout the tournament but I wanted ZZ to end his career on a high. I hate to say it but as soon as ZZ got sent off I wanted the Italians to win, there is no way ZZ deserved a winners medal after that.

Anyway its the end of a most unspectacular WC, and as DiF said last night I think the german team are the ones who can be most proud of their performances. FIFA seem to be looking at cheating now with the use of video replays but I think it will take a lot to sort the mess out
