the winners of this tournament

are the germans.

they've thrown off their defensive past and played beautiful, attacking football. They showed compusre in penalty shootouts and didn't cheat or foul.

they also proved perfect hosts and managed the tournament impeccably. I think we should stop all the war references and give them a round of applause.
