Norwich City striker Mo Toure is set for shoulder surgery that will keep him out for 'months', confirmed head coach Philippe Clement.

The Australian international was forced off after just 15 minutes of Sunday's 4-3 Championship defeat against Bolton following a tangle with Ben Davies.

Toure had notched his fifth Championship goal of the season in a blistering start to the new campaign, but Clement delivered the hammer blow injury news on Tuesday evening.

Captain Kenny McLean (ankle) and left back Ben Chrisene (shoulder) will also be sidelined for a 'few weeks', although Clement was less specific in his timeline assessment on that duo.

McLean 'popped' his ankle in the closing stages against the Trotters, after the Belgian had used up all his substitution windows.

Chrisene was able to complete the game, despite a heavy landing on his shoulder. All three had been scheduled to feature on international duty for their respective countries.

"Mo Toure will be out for months and he will need surgery. That is a bad one," said Clement, speaking on Tuesday night at the official opening of the Community Sports Foundation's new padel courts, at The Nest. "The others are all still being assessed but we will lose a few players, and all contact injuries.

"You cannot prevent those. It is part of football and of course I live with those players and they have been working hard to focus on having a big season, but it will give chances to others.

City defender Jose Cordoba was officially withdrawn from international duty with Panama earlier on Tuesday due to an ankle injury.

Cordoba played the full 90 minutes on Sunday but will not travel for Panama’s upcoming friendly matches on their Asian tour.

The Panamanian FA is reportedly awaiting medical information on Cordoba’s ankle from City officials. Under FIFA rules, a national association can require an injured player to undergo a medical examination by a doctor of its choice, but the player can insist it takes place in the country where his club is based.

City do not return to league action until the trip to early Championship pacesetters Swansea on October 10.

Papa Amadou Diallo is still being assessed, after Clement revealed at the weekend he was set to visit a specialist following muscular pain in his legs.

The Senegal international needed thigh surgery last season that sidelined him for four months, before his debut tour ended in February 2026 after he complained of discomfort in a pre-match shooting drill against Blackburn.

Lucien Mahovo (ankle), Mirko Topic (knee) and Ali Ahmed (knee) were City's longer term injury absentees before a fresh wave in recent days, with Mahovo scheduled to return to team training over this current international period.

The City chief was joined at the event on Tuesday night by first team players Jack Stacey and Jacob Wright.
