No one was actually upset or offended by this, apart from the people that chose to be.
I do wish these companies would push back more on things like this.
"we understand there is a potential connection here, but considering the images are all linked to Oxford United football club, and messaging around our founding in 1893, we feel that the context is clear and obvious"
