Unless the opposition plays in a very open style or makes a load of basic errors, we struggle to create chances. We could still be playing now and I’m not entirely sure we’d have scored yet. As the game went on we looked less and less likely.

Clement’s post match comments didn’t really resonate with me. Yes, we were the team trying to make something happen for most of the game, but other than that short spell before half time we created close to nothing.

Meanwhile, at the other end, it took a wonder block from mcconville to stop Hirst scoring and mattsson was lucky not to concede a penalty.

It’s a bit worrying that there is a very basic and simple to execute, blueprint for beating us; defend solidly, let us have the ball, transition quickly when we inevitably drop a clanger somewhere in midfield.
