Neither were looking at or attempting to play the ball on multiple occasions, just wrestling with the man or turning to look where he was.

Cordoba actually lost out on getting to several balls he clearly had the pace to get to as he was too busy trying to use his strength rather than actually get the ball.

Darling also was just constantly rushing out and grappling with him with the result being the ball just went over the top of everyone and their fast striker rushed into it.

It was a shambles. They have no understanding or chemistry as a partnership. Cordoba has believed his own hype in my view and needs to get back to basics rather than p**ding around with fancy boots and hairstyles, Darking is just positionally not a good defender and our defence is always stretched when he plays. Clement changing the CB pairing from last season is a major, major f+”k up and he needs to rectify it for the next league match,
