Extra time - under Golden Goal rules. Xavier handballs in the area and a penalty is given, and the Portuguese (knowing that if the penalty is scored that's the end of it) go mental. Pushing and shoving the ref, refusing to allow the penalty to be taken, having a go at Zidane (who's going to take it) etc etc etc. Gomes got sent off before the penalty was taken! They delayed the penalty by 5 or 10 minutes. Then Zidane slotted it anyway, cool as you like, and the Portuguese went even more mental. Three or four of them got banned from football for somewhere between 6 months and a year. It was EPIC entertainment, so if you were there and can't remember it, you must have been well stoned!
