Hendo did play 6 minutes against Panama.

But honestly I don’t see why all the criticism. Clearly the way tuchel works is that Scott and Wharton would also have played 6 minutes between them. And what we don’t know is how they contribute to the squad in training or just the group.

It’s certainly different than we’ve had before but then he’s now got us as far as we’ve ever got since 66. No England team ever has won more knockout games in one tournament (thankfully so far without penalties required). We’ve previously never been as far as a semi final outside Europe.

Any other tournament before this one and we’d be in the final by now. I think he’s already shown that his approach has yielded sufficient results to get behind him. And yes I also thought he’d lost the plot when he brought on Eze to replace Rice. But eventually it worked out so well done Tommy T.

When Southgate was boss - a World Cup win aside the most successful England manager ever - he was criticised for not making adjustments during the game, which Tuchel does, and toward the end just shoehorning his best talent into sides that just didn’t work, whether they were on form or not. That is precisely the mistake Sven, Capello and many others made before him. So who knows? Maybe Tuchel has been right all along? I was sceptical of him when appointed but got to get behind him now.
