What they mean by mistaken identity is that the wrong player was booked

It should have been the swiss player not the argentine.

Its a stupid name for the rule though,

Its a stupid rule too. If he'd only given a foul and not booked the argentine the swiss player would still have cheated but stayed on the pitch.
