Isn't he just setting himself up for a fall though?

I know plenty of previous presidents have said similar things while knowing it's highly unlikely that they'll get any of the players that they mention.

I'd expect anyone other than the most naive fans to realise this, so therefore why bother?

It's just pointless, and f**ks me off a tad.
