But the fact we disagree just illustrates the point that this was not a decision that should have been referred to VAR because its not a clear and obvious error. VAR would absolutely swamp the game if it re-referees every subjective close call. And my point anyway is that has been frustratingly inconsistent. I have watched every game and there have been tons of more clear obvious errors ignored by VAR, yet some very soft decisions have been overturned. And if it was really wanting to clamp down on manhandling in the box as you say, there have been hundreds more egregious examples than the German one, so again its been inconsistent. Im more confused than ever what VAR wants to achieve. The problem I believe is we have 3 people sat in the VAR box, and human nature means some of them just can't help themselves getting involved, and then they show biased angles to the on-field ref when other angles suggest otherwise.
