Unfortunately, the overall contest doesn't look like it'll be very competitive, with the cycling GOAT likely to win comfortably again, for the 3rd year in a row and his 5th overall (equalling the record).
Hopefully there'll be the usual sub-plots, fun stages and battles for the other jerseys though.
In other things to watch out for:
- finally the French have found a potential winner, after their 40+ year drought. He's too young this year (still only 19...) but they're getting very excited.
- the heatwave might f**k things up a bit. They're talking about 40+ degree temperatures and possible stage shortenings or even cancellations. Sign of things to come, sadly.
- Doesn't look like there's much for Brits to get excited about this year. Suspect no stage wins for us, but hope I'll be surprised.
