Pubs - basically you can’t go wrong

Artichoke, good craft and others.
Beer Hatch, small but big selection.
Malt and Mardle, tiny but good.
Stanley, more pub like.
Plasterer’s, very good.
The Leopard, excellent all round everything.
King’s Head, what Pablo said.
Golden Star, a short walk away up Colegate but feels like going back in time inside. Proper pub.
Weaver’s, as mentioned. Cool, nice atmosphere.

Less good:
Glasshouse - Wetherspoon’s. I’d say avoid like the plague, but if you like sticky carpet, drunken shouting and feeling like you’re about to be dragged into someone else’s argument, knock yourself out.
Chambers. Not sure, doesn’t look great and wasn’t back when it was the Lawyer.
