The world is a mess

and everything is so polarised you're bound to f**k off one faction or another whatever decisions you take.

I can't see, with the way things are, and with the way social media is, any leader could ever be more popular than not for the foreseeable.

I think early Blair in the 'Cool Britannia' era was the last mostly popular PM, pre Iraq.
