Yeah there’s only a couple on the road in the uk, rear engined, very simple.

Introduced to offer a larger modernised R8 but actually the R8 outlasted it in production. It’s really point and laugh car, it handles like an airbed, I have a dried up bag of cement in the front boot for ballast. Yeah I go to all kinds of motoring events, from village meets to Goodwood, LeMans, etc and seen all the big hitters that I’ve read about in C&SC since the 1980s, but it’s the humdrum family cars that often appeal to me more.
Oh, yet another 250 GTO? (I must have seen at least half of the 36 produced) nahhh there’s a mk1 cavalier in the same colour as Dad’s company car which I remember hanging out of the window of on the Dereham bypass.
