they created chances, played at a high tempo, were up against a team about twice as good as Portugal (who tremenber had two of their best players not playing), played the right formation with two up front in an attacking style.

My post was partly about the style not just the commitment.

England were pedestrian compared to either of those teams last night and also compared with the likes of Australia.
