Sorry for the delay guys and gals, I'm afraid an internet issue meant I couldn't get onto any website for hours.
So,
Ghana 1-0 Panama: not the best game in the world and I imagine if I was working on the highlights program I would struggle to fill 8 minutes. So if anyone watched that, I'd be interested to know what they showed.
Ghana just about looked the better side with Semenyo, and later on the Coventry lad Thomas-Asante, running down the wings. Eventually it was those two combining that led to a very late winner. That goal had a Norwich connection as Cordoba was beaten after he (some would say stupidly) dived in and missed his tackle. Boring match and England won't fear either of these teams.
Colombia 3-1 Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan were rubbish and I was very surprised that they scored as they had not looked like doing so ever. However, at 2-1 and with a few minutes to go, they could have stolen a draw. Instead, Columbia scored a fantastic third with a header from an incredible cross from the corner flag.
The main feature of this game was the crowd who sounded like a bunch of screaming schoolgirls every time Colombia attacked.
I should mention that Crystal Palace's fullback Munoz scored a wonderful first time flick over the keeper goal to open the scoring.
In summary, not the most terrible couple of matches, but I would rather have not had to sit through Ghana v Panama and wouldn't have done so were not for all of you so desperately wanting my match review. 💙
