OK, hands up

Last night's game was just fabulous and though there were still more amateur dramatics than I like to see the spirit between the teams was good as well.

Doesn't alter the way the Italians got there - but they were excellent last night.

Still backing les bleues (which will mean Portugal go through tonight, based on the record of teams I support). But if les autre bleues end up winning it it won't be quite the debacle it might have been (in the sense that they have turned in a world-class performance in footballing terms as well as Oscar terms now).

I'd said the Italians were all about diving and cheating and I was wrong - clearly they can play a bit too.
