If I was Clement, I'd see how he was when he arrived back for pre-season

if more of the same, sack him off. No point sending him on loan (other than if we can't sell him).

It's not his ability that stops him from contributing, so if he comes back to pre-season looking like a player determined to fulfil his potential, he's got to be worth giving a shot.
