i'm thinking putting them at the bottom makes sense as if the cable clip fails or perishes then the nail or screw would probably support the cable but aesthetically at the top is more pleasing on the eye to me anyway.
i'm talking outdoors along a fenceline/wall.
previously i did my external gas pipe with the over the top method after the boiler service bod picked me up on a wobbly gas pipe situtation after some of the clips had perished and had me down on an "advisory" but i'm thinking putting the screws underneath would be belt and braces safer.
it's a conundrum.
