Why is the welfare bill increasing so rapidly?

Why are taxes being hiked by Labour at every opportunity?
Why did Pat McFadden make the comment about taxing more people to pay benefits?
I think you are perhaps in left wing denial about how bad things really are in the country currently.
We are in serious trouble, this is not a wealthy country any more.
