The too much football excuse has surely gone?

Premier league plays at most 4 more than other leagues, and for many the same. The two cups are now played by their reserves until the latter stages.

As for European football, its the same for all players at top teams in Europe.

Not to mention a lot of top international footballers play in the premier league these days.
