I stand by my assertion that we were the second best side in that tournament

The execrable Germany side that somehow got to the final (the one we beat 5-1 in qualifying) beat the USA in the QF and South Korea in the SF!

And weirdly, it was basically two tournaments - one in Japan, one in South Korea. Usually you can get chucked around the draw depending on where you finish in your group - but this time teams remained in one country no matter what.

So, for example, Turkey played Brazil their group... and then had to play them again in the semis.
