England - Belgium

Watched it in the rec room of my hall of residence. It was right at the end of term and end of my first year, just before people started going home. Exams were done and life was good.

The room was packed out, cheap beer from the student bar was flowing from long before the game. I was sat between my two best mates Dave (Everton fan) and Nellie (Coventry fan).

When Platty scored that late winner the place went mad. Ale everywhere, people jumping up and down and hugging. Then we all went out on the town and got hammered. Can’t tell you much about it tbh, but the hangover was spectacular.

Crap World Cup? Not for me Clive. It was amazing.
