Thats the problem the EFL has here. A fine will be a pittance compared to the income from the prem. The EFL can only impose a points deduction when they are in the championship. If they go up then they may not come down for several years.

In both those scenarios any punishment doesn't really have any impact on Southampton if they win the final and they end up prospering having admitted to cheating.

And if they've admitted to 3 instances they must have been doing it for every game - there just isn't the evidence. This manager of theirs has been consistently praised for his ability to adapt tactically to opponents. Perhaps we now know (partly) why.
