What I think is interesting in this is the reaction of a club an set of fans to actually

being punished for something.

Yes I think the punishment is pretty harsh, but perhaps that's what is needed now in football to actually get clubs to tow the line because its clear that fines don't do enough, they just take them on the chin and assess the benefits as being worth the risk.

Perhaps if clubs are punished properly like this for cheating then they will actually start respecting the rules.

For that reason I hope they do not get let off on appeal.
