i was watching antiques roadshow earlier and a relative of paddy maine bowled up with paddy's miniature medals which were valued at around 50,000 pounds. the expert said if they were the original full blown set of medals they would be worth in excess of one million pounds. which is pretty mind blowing as he never was awarded the vc, which he absolutely should have. a dso with 3 bars is incredibly rare.

that's testament to the brilliance of the man as a soldier as he only served for 6 years. if you havent read it, this is a cracking read...
