Exactly the reason that the PL sucks the lifeblood out of

football. It’s become so much wealthier that clubs can pay third team keepers more than they’ll get in the lower leagues as first team players. Go back to the original days of the PL and a promoted club needed to buy a few PL standard players. Then it got to buying a full eleven and now it’s a squad. That’s why it’s becoming tougher and why, as a sporting contest, it’s a busted flush.
