But also personality is important. Certain teams (not just sports, obviously) react better to certain types of personalities and leaders. A properly skilled leader can adapt, as can the team. Teams are also dynamic, changing when members come and go (Sargent and Núñez being cases in point). Young, inexperienced and unfamiliar players take time to bed in.

The acid test will be if we can maintain the momentum next season. The team and manager/coach have proven they are good enough. Can they carry on?
