That decision just defies rational analysis

It’s clearly a highly cynical foul - no eyes on the ball, wrestles the player to the ground to completely halt a dangerous attack at source. Given the cover, hard to argue it’s a red, but a more obvious yellow you will never see.

If the ref had just somehow missed it and waved played on, I guess that’s just one of those things. If the ref has seen it and sees it as a foul, how can it not be at least a yellow card? I just don’t get it. What calculus has the ref done to judge that a nice talking too is right?

I get bashing refs is classic football fan territory, but this does suggest that this ref is just f**king thick, and doesn’t really know what he’s doing. Guess it will be his turn to be stood down this weekend, but it’s just swirling the turds around the bowl.
