I personally don't think players capable of winning it were available to the manager once Rooney & Owen were injured, but we've had so much ridiculous hype about this so-called Golden Generation that none of the pundits want to admit that. Much easier to blamne the manager, especially since he was known to be leaving. I thought he made the best of a bad job. We weren't outplayed at any point on Saturday, a far cry from 2004 when they dominated the midfield and played us off the park.
