Look at his head; he's looking for the ball. Carvalho's down now, Roon's still upright, Roon knows that if he can just stay up the ball is his now. But he's still being pulled backwards and his foot stabs backwards and down to keep his balance. It's a reaction thing.

But very hard to read intent on this one.
