It was never going to be easy...

The only way we might have done better was by spending millions of pounds that we didn't have. When West Ham went down with 42 points, it was a different scenario. So many points have been banked by the top 2/3 teams. It's not so evenly spread this season. Liverpool are 30 odd points behind the champions and are still going for 4th spot.
