The ref saw the initial incident

If you are saying that it’s ok for 4th officials to effectively overrule on subjective on field decisions they were nowhere near without even looking at replays then I just fundamentally disagree with that. It’s worse than VAR.

I’d say the sand for linesman to be fair as well. The ref should have been stronger if it was the linesman that chipped in.
