Strangely enough, I think JHT and Clement have a lot in common

in their direction and ideas of how to get there.

I just think JHT was a little too young, and maybe with less experience or not commanding sufficient respect, to get it done.

Clement is a lot more pragmatic than dogmatic, and that will come from experience - there's a time at which to do it how you think it should be done, and there's a time to just f**king hoof the bastard (Cordoba and Darling today did some impressive hoofing the last ten minutes).

However, I think they have very similar ideas as to where they wanted to go. I remember a phrase JHT used and Clement almost paraphrased - that yes we want to play the sexy football but you need to first earn the right to play like that.

But the most remarkable thing is - why on earth did we hire Manning in between, whose philosophy was nothing like it at all? That made as much sense as replacing Farke with Dean Smith.
