prior to his stint at team GB, Dr Paul Ford was primarily an academic sports scientist specialising in football performance and skill development, which later fed directly into his role supporting Olympic athletes.

he was also involved in Football performance research.
Much of his research centered on elite football, including how players develop technical skills and how performance can be objectively measured.
