"City have confirmed they have made a bid for Luton Town target man Steve Howard, who bagged 15 goals last season.

That took his total to 103 goals in just 228 appearances for Luton since he moved from Northampton for ?50k in 2001 - what a bargain! He does pick up more than his fair share of bookings though - eight last season, plus a red.
