From the Southampton Echo - platform 1 is the main London platform

A signalling problem has caused train delays at Southampton Central.

Passengers at Southampton Central station have faced disruption after a problem with the signals caused delays on some lines towards Eastleigh and Fareham.

Trains going through the station were delayed by up to 20 minutes, and customers are advised they will face more disruption until around 8pm.

According to SWR, a set of points at Southampton Central station had an issue, causing trains to currently not be able to use platform one.
