in spite of all the doom and gloom in the msm, it's not as bad as painted

i'm not dismissing the reality of the death and destruction being meted out in the middle east by the usa/israel and iran but, putting that horror aside for a moment...

...on a more positive note, tripartite talks between china, the eu, and iran (yep) are underway with the aim of reopening the straits. india is expected to join the discussions later this week (they are a huge actor/victim/influencer).

it is worth noting that oil itself is not the primary concern. the more significant vulnerability lies in qatar’s LNG and helium exports.

the middle east currently produces around 20 million barrels of oil per day, while strategic reserves total roughly 800 million barrels. in addition, approximately 10 million barrels per day are being transported through pipelines via the red sea. at current levels, this equates to around 80 days of available reserves, with any shortfall likely to be mitigated through reduced consumption if required. of course we will all suffer in the meantime from price gouging etc.

don't panic mr mainwairing, trump will taco and drag the usa down with him. sadly we will all be clearing up their s**t for many years but we will work with many others to restore a world based order again and keep the sea lanes open. there's more good than bad out there. the bad just stands out more.
