Makama is not "too good" for this level. He is very good at this level, and he has

the potential to get better.

There are rarely many who are "too good" for the championship. Those really stand out and over time.

Huckerby in his first years. Prime Pukki perhaps? But then we didn't get lots of offers for him. Maddison, Buendia (at the time along with Grealish at Villa), and probably Sara.

I thought about Wes but no, I think even he was a really top championship player, and a decent lower half Premier League player.

Note that Harold Kane was a bit s**t at this level.
