I remember them well

Butterworth a tall, head up classy centre half, good to excellent passing range (see his long ball to Ruel for Goss’ goal against Leeds, 1994), maybe his main flaw was a lack of pace. Think Roaarrrrgghi but McConville has more pace.

Lee, Lee, Lee Power was a pacy, direct striker, a chaser, good for balls into the channel and a reasonable finisher. However, never got a long first team run due to Sutton, Robins and co being better. I suppose you could say a proto-Toure.

Rob Newman was a classy central defender or defensive midfielder with an almost shocking absence of any kind of pace. But very hard to knock off the ball, a good touch and a good passer, but not overly creative. Played up front as well because he was very good in the air and had great hold up play. Did I say he had no pace? He was slow. I think he had already played 500 games for Bristol City by the time we signed him. The closest we have now would be Kenny but only in terms of experience and character on the pitch; maybe in recent years Sørensen?
