I had a new meter fitted. The old one was out of date, and, as it happens, dangerous. There was arcing with the box wires. I noticed because of flickering lights. Wish I had replaced sooner! Seeing sparks and the electrical burning smell was a bit frightening. I did not have a smart meter fitted.
