I took Barclays to the FOS for a neighbour

She was elderly and getting confused. We’d logged her with their vulnerable customers team. Some FUCKING ARSEHOLE rogues came round and scammed her for drains work. She’d paid on her barclaycard.

The vulnerable team was great, apologised, says they had to refer it upwards but it would be fine … at which point “upwards” decided it was too much to refund, claimed she hasn’t been scammed at all and refused to do anything.

It took the Ombudsman EIGHTEEN MONTHS to rule on this incredibly simple case. I am a professional litigator and had presented it all to them on a plate. They were USELESS. By the time she got the money back she was in a home.

Wankers.
