Alex Neil’s season when he took over from Adams is worth a look

Played some very good football, and I believe, if I recall correctly, that he improved the result against every team we had already played. One prime example being Middlesbrough - we had already lost to them, they did a job on us at Carrow Road, and we completely did them at Wembley a few weeks later. Yes, they didn’t have Bamford, but they were still strong enough. Like many managers before and since, once he tried to change things in a higher division, it didn’t work as well, but I think he was still a good manager and we were his first big job (so to speak).
