The Chadwick affair is nothing more than the club putting out summer PR for the fans.
Why the hell would Stoke sell him? They've only recently signed him, he's a decent player, he doesn't want to leave them & they aren't strapped for cash. There was no way they were or would entertain selling him unless we offered silly money and the only time we offer silly money is when we make these sort of bids, knowing full well it won't come off, but, at the same time, looking like the club is doing its best to sign players and keep the local media and fans happy.
Same with Hulse.
Sooner or later the tales of woe will come out, "...we have tried to sign players, have made enquiries and bids, but clubs didn't want to sell..." etc etc, thus, in their eyes, exonerating themselves in front of everyone.
Eventually we'll end up with some 30 plus reserve from another club, who'll arrive, completely unexpectedly, accompanied by the quote from Worthington along the lines of "...'x' is a player who was always top of our list...", yea, right!
